Alexis Chivir-ter Tsegba (she/they) is a visual artist whose practice is grounded in digital collage and illustration while expanding towards video and installation. She is a versatile designer with a broad range of experience working commercially across industries, including music, film, textiles, branding, print and publishing, healthcare, and charities. In 2022, she received the runner-up prize for Best in Illustrated Journalism from the Victoria and Albert Illustration Awards.
In her personal artistic practice, Alexis is drawn to art forms characterised by experimentation and synthesis, wary of borders, limits and fixed genres. Her work directly engages subjects such as Afro-futurism, queerness and gender expression in African bodies, religion, spirituality and exploring the inner self. She holds an M.A. in Creative and Media Enterprises and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts. Alexis' works have been shown in galleries in the UK, U.S., Germany, South Africa and Nigeria.
